Panel Discussion on SME Financing at the World Trade Symposium 2017 in London

I was speaking at and leading a Panel at the WTF2017 with the topic: Bridging the USD 1.6 trillion trade financing funding gap for SME’s.

This panel’s debate focused on information and insights about the struggle of SMEs and what governments and private sectors can do to close the gap and discussed the following questions.

  • What are the key trade implications and requirements of SMEs?
  • Which diversified financing and policy approaches are available and what has been the experience of current initiatives?
  •  Does trade digitisation, fintech and blockchain have the potential to help close the gap?
  • What is the potential impact of Legal Entity Identifiers (LEI) in relation to the cost and risk of financing SMEs?
